Rock Band

First, it's not really a 'game'- it's just musical instruments for people who don't play musical instruments. That said, I dig it a lot. So for the most part, does the family; we each have our own instrument( Microphone, Drums and Guitar- I rock out the drums.) This is probably the only Wii "game" that I play regularly because again, it's not really a game. Still, as fun as it is, I get the sense from reading reviews of Rockband II, Rockband for other systems (i.e. XBOX, and PS3), or Guitar Hero (any) that this version for the Wii was rather skimpy on alot of aspects. And truthfully, the game is pretty repetitive and not very...optionable, i.e. you just play notes. It would have been interesting to 'progress' in the tour mode- like choose and create characters, clothing, etc. The songs are also somewhat limited, and for Wii Rockband, you can't download like XBX and PS3, only buy TrackPacks, which is a downer. The level of difficulty is good though and it offers different playability once you get through a song with a good handle on it. Still I like it alot, and so does the fam, making it more than likely that I will look into GuitarHero or RB2 in the future. If I'd have had the choice now, I would have gone for RB2. But with no music background whatsoever, RB has piqued my interest. Buy Rock Band!
