Ultimate Shooting Collection

I've had my Wii for a few weeks now, and have worked up a good collection of games. Honestly, this is one of my most played games. It's so easy to just jump into for a few minutes, and doesnt require so much of a time commitment as other games do. The graphics are fantastic, using the same style as "Paper Mario" (cell-shaded I think its called?) Not only that, but you get three great games! Great news for a person like me who loves games like Gigawing, Radiant Silvergun, and the Raiden series.
One thing I want to touch upon that I havent seen other reviewers mention is the awesome soundtrack. First of all, I love Drum and bass music, and thats what all three games are laced with. This is truly one of the few video games that has an awesome sountrack without using licensed songs. The sound quality for these tracks are great as well. I think they are using DVD format music on this disc, as the low bass and the highs sound better on my sound system than a lot of CDs that I own.

One point that some people seem to not like is the fact that much of this game isnt translated from Japanese.. There is a LOT of Japanese text in this game, but I like it as it gives the game a hard-core otaku feeling. These are the types of games I often see displayed in shop windows when walking through Akihabara in Tokyo. However I don't feel that this is a problem, as all of the games only use 3 buttons (long range attack, short range, and some sort of bomb) and ITS A SHOOTER PEOPLE! What more do you need to understand? Dodge bullets, shoot the enemy ships, and make it as far as you can.

Anyhow, point being I give this game (games!) very high marks for the graphics, sound, and replay value. Sure they're not as deep as the latest Zelda adventure, but drink a few Red Bulls and they're great for 20-30 minutes of mania inducing bullet-hell. I hope to see more games like this released on the Wii in the future.Buy Ultimate Shooting Collection!

Wii Dual Charge Station with Dual Nunchuck Holder

Now you can charge your Wii remotes and store your nunchucks on one unit. I have tried several other charging stations before and I have to admit I am pleased with this one. I especially give "kudos" for finally making a charger that does not allow the wrist strap to get in the way of the charging connectors. There is actually amble space between the remote and base of the unit so that the wrist strap will not get in the way while the remote rests on the charger. The nunchuck controller don't really sit perfectly into their cradles, but after careful positioning they will stay in place. Wii Charge & Dock Station w/Rechargeable Batteries

This does a great job of keeping our Wii console and two remotes/nunchucks together in one spot, looking neat and tidy, and comes with the bonus of being a rechargeable dock for the remote batteries.

The remotes won't fit in the slots if you keep the clear skins on them that they came with, so we purchased two thinner skins and they fit perfectly in the dock. However, even though the remotes do fit in their slots with the thinner skins and also their wrist straps on, the batteries still can't charge with any skins or wrist straps on. So when the remote batteries go dead, we just use the option of charging the batteries alone in the dock slots. When they are fully charged we turn the charging button off and return the remotes to their dock slots (skins, wrist straps and all). It is very handy to have a place to store them in between chargings.

Also the nunchucks fit into their slots great, even with a skin on (there is an extra space for the cord to run through).

I also like how the Wii console cord plugs into the back of the stand, which plugs into the console, thereby eliminating something else to plug in. Overall, four stars! Buy Wii Charge & Dock Station w/Rechargeable Batteries!

Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars

This is one of those games that you can actually judge by the cover. Let me break it down:

1) The cover looks like it came straight out of 90's concert poster.
2) If you're a fan of that style, undoubtedly you're a fan of Primus, whose main man Les Claypool does the soundtrack.
3) Since you enjoy the style, you're going to have fun exploring the world which is incredibly detailed - brand name puns, current event references, even little things like a note lying on the ground is a real note, complete with a story about how aliens are stealing our oil and selling it back to us at $150 a barrel.
4) Just look at the name. Mushroom Men. You know it's going to be weird and contain offbeat humor, and you're right.

The bulk of the joy I get from this game is from the style, but the classic platformer elements and control is quite good, I especially enjoy gliding (seems like you can fly forever!) and using the sticky-hand "grapling hook". But the style and the funny content keep me exploring each level, and that's an important element in any platformer.

If playing a mushroom in a game that looks like a concert poster while listening to Les Claypool sounds as cool to you as it does to me, then this game is for you. I was really excited about Mushroom Men but held off on buying because someone told me it was just okay. I'm glad I paid attention to Amazon's user reviews instead of metacritic when deciding to buy this game - Mushroom Men is exactly what I wanted.

Wii Nerf Racing Wheel - Green

We have only used it a couple of times, but the wheel is already falling apart. The foam is not very durable. Comfortable to hold, but not durable. Buy Wii Nerf Racing Wheel - Green!

Barnyard (Nintendo Wii)

This is a fun alternative to the more rough games available out there. It is an adventure game with lots of missions to accomplish. The graphics are good and the visual aspects are very appealing. The most violent things involve shooting tomatoes at kids who are trying to tip cows and shooting coyotes and raccoons with milk to make them disappear. Monster Lab

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent

It's just like the any other Splinter Cell video game. Just using motion controls for the game can get a little annoying, especially when trying to aim a weapon for sticky cams etc. Other than that it's a fun game.Buy Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent!

Spider-Man 3

This game is fun, addictive, but short. If you play it straight (morning to late night or even earlier) you will beat the game. However there are several difficulty levels and several character combinations which keep it interesting. Wii Fit Workout Mat

I purchased the Wii Workout Mat in lime green, along with the silicone sleeve for the Wii Fit board, and was surprised at the thickness of it.
It is really sturdy, and thicker than some mats that are much pricier.

I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase, and did not realize how much a good mat is needed under the balance board, regardless of whether it is placed on a bare floor or carpet.

Crash: Mind Over Mutant

My roommate and I picked this game up as a rental remembering how much fun the original was. I was thrilled to see that this version is just as much fun!

Yes, some of the cartoons are a little cheesy, but after you get past the first bit, they don't show up so frequently. I was a little dismayed that they "force" you to watch through the animated bits - until I figured out that it's a two button combination to skip. (Plus sign, then A).

This dance pad is much better than the one that comes with Konami's DDR : Hottest Party game. There is a 1-inch thick foam insert that makes it so much easier on your knees and the arches of your feet. Also, the sensors underneath the arrows are much more responsive so you don't have to be directly in the center of the arrow for it to register with the game. You can disassemble the pad for easier transport. The foam insert fits together like jigsaw pieces. You don't have to slide the foam pieces in, the zipper goes all the way around so you can open the cover, place the foam pieces in and then zip up. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. It doesn't work - the silly "laser" doesn't aim properly or anywhere near accurately. And yes I understand that this is a toy but it should be somewhere close to where you are aiming the pistol.

Wii Fit Protective Jeli Sleeve

Nicely made - sturdy silicone - feels cool and soft to the touch - good engineering to stay in place on the board - but the textured bumpy areas for the feet are way too hard for my tender tootsies! The textured bumps hurt the bottoms of my feet even when I put on thick heavy socks first. Safecracker

Its ok I guess. Its a point and click game with panoramic viewing. The game is nothing spectacular, but it is enjoyable, relaxing and something to pass the time away. I thought it was too short, [...]. I definately would suggest renting it since it is so short. It only took me 6 hours to get through the entire game. There are 30+ some safes. About half are easy or predictable. There are a couple of difficult ones that will get you stumped and will make you feel like a genius if you figure it out on your own :) And there are a few that are almost impossible unless you are a member of Mensa. If you like Brain Teasers, you really cant go wrong here.Buy Safecracker!

Build-A-Bear Workshop: A Friend Fur All Seasons

As the title of this review suggests, I bought this game for my little sister, who doesn't like complicated games. Even Super Mario Galaxy is too advanced for her, though I found the controls to be quite simple.

She picked this up and really enjoyed it. As a Build-A-Bear fanatic, she was able to create her own bear, understand the instructions and blasted off. The game really does well in teaching the mini-games.

The only complaint I have (which came from my 7-year-old sister) is that it's too short. She finished it in a day (after the third time around).

But for someone who thinks that many of the Wii's current titles are too complicated for their child, this is a great buy.

Wii Wireless Dance Mat with Foam Pad

I have had this dance pad a couple weeks now and it is great! It is not wimpy at all and is very sensitive to your movements. You don't have to be exactly on the arrow for it to pick up your move. The thick foam makes it more comfortable to use than those thin flimsy ones. The wireless ability is great, too. No cords to trip over or get tangled up. Cranium Kabookii

This is a great game, best played in at least a group of 4 people/2 teams. The Wii remote is used in clever ways to solve the different game puzzles. The hardest mini-games are Charades & Backwards Charades (not real name, you just don't look at the screen and your team tells you what to do); this is because the game determines if you did the clue right or not, not your team. We've played several times now, and finally had someone win the Charades mini-game (there are 6 things to demonstrate in the allotted time). Since it's so hard to get the game to agree you are doing the right motion we just let whoever is doing the Charades to look at the screen at all times. Otherwise, all the mini-games are fun, you spin a wheel with the remote to randomly pick your activity. Lots of laughs.Buy Cranium Kabookii!

Disney High School Musical 3: Senior Year

Bought this game for my seven year old daughter for Christmas. She has mastered the game but still continues to play with much enjoyment. Even my husband who was hesistant to play at first enjoyed playing the game. We have all 'graduated' and still have fun with the dance-offs.
