I purchased this because my Wii is one of those Wiis that eventually get a dirty lens, making it unable to read double layer discs like Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Double layer discs are not like ordinary discs. They store more memory than the average disc. SSBB is the only double layer disc so far. In order for the Wii lens to properly read "DL" discs, the lens must be clean. If it is not clean, then it may not be able to read the disc and you won't be able to play that disc until you mail your Wii to Nintendo for "repairs", something I did not want to do because of "time".
This product works on all Wiis. It is a piece of plastic shaped like a disc. It comes with the cleaning solution and 5 cleaning pads. You use it as another reviewer has said already.
Who knows how many other double layer discs Nintendo will bring in the future. If your Wii lens isn't already dirty, it may get dirty the next time another "DL" game comes out and you may experience problems.
This can prevent that from happening. I was very satisfied with this and it was worth my money.
(btw, using this isn't 5 stars of "fun". simple mistake. heh heh) Buy Wii Lens Cleaning Kit!
