We bought the DDR game and it came with one controller, we bought an extra generic pad in the store and were so excited to play when we got home. We plugged everything in and the generic mat kept registering as a hand held controller for a video game, not a mat. So we couldn't play. We took it back and decided to pay the extra for a name brand mat and I am so glad we did, we have no problems with it at all, plus this mat is thicker and not as slippery as the generic mat was.
